Liquipelled

I went to Liquipel my phone today. Liquipel is a process which allows you to effectively waterproof your phone. The process involves the permeation of fine nano particles to the inside and outside of the phone. The process does not require you to take apart your phone. Batteries can be done individually as well if it is removeable. In fact they allowed me to have my spare battery treated at the same time.  When you leave your phone with them you need to wait 2hrs before you get your phone back.

For your efforts you also get a soft Liquipel pouch and a registration card. If your phone needs servicing within 90 days of applying the Liquipel you get to do your phone again for free.

I bought a package for 3 phones. It comes to about $HK349 per phone. Liquipel in Hong Kong is at Billion Centre, Kowloon Bay

Rooting the Note2 LTE

Now that I have settled on my Note2 LTE, I thought it was about time I rooted it.

Checking out Xda-Developers is the best place for all the fun, developer goodness. I found Chainfire had the easiest solution and sure enough everything was completed in seconds!

Now I have a bit more flexibility with my Note2 for customising, backing and modding. It so nice to have these guys around!

A nice feature after rooting is the ability to access a USB stick through the microusb port.

Check out the link below. Instructions are pretty detailed and concise. Go through it a few times to familiarise yourself with it. There is a disclaimer to do it at your own risk so make sure you are comfortable with it before you try.

NB. Apparently I should be able to drive a USB stick without root. Sorry about that. For some reason the cable I had did not work until I rooted the phone

LTE with Note2

I finally got around to getting my Note2 LTE. So far on average I have been only getting around 20 down 20 up here in Hong Kong. In Australia using an Optus network average was more around 40.
What figures have others been getting?
