HTC Prophet looks to be a replacement of the O2 Mini and the upcoming O2 Atom:

  • EDGE, GPRS, GSM
  • built-in FM Radio
  • built-in Wi-Fi (unknown whether also 802.11g or only 802.11b)
  • powered by Windows Mobile 5.0
  • 416MHz Intel Processor
  • QVGA (240×320 pixels), 65k colors
  • 2.0 megapixel with Flash
  • Similar size as Magician (O2 Mini) but slimmer
  • Release date: unknown

After looking at those specs, I would say that the HTC Prophet is very similar to the Atom, but looks like the Atom (made by a company named Quanta, and not HTC) will beat the Prophet to market with an estimated release of December, 2005.

Personally speaking, the O2 Atom is looking more attractive at the moment, with the slick black finish and the 262,000 color screen.
