Gmail to allow company domains

google_logo.gifGoogle’s Gmail service is undergoing beta-testing to allow re-branding of their frontend interface with company domain, logo, etc.  This is a neat idea that should serve well for the SME’s of Hong Kong.

It is not clear at this time whether Google plans to charge for the service when it finally emerges from beta. Given Google’s track record this might take some time. However, presumably if Google intends to finance the service through contextual ads in the same way as Gmail, we can assume that Google will not charge. If so, Google will hope to give a major boost to Gmail subscribers as companies and other organisations sign up multiple accounts at once.
