Msmobiles.com has some real-life photos of the HTC Hermes in action. The one thing that stood out from our previous news is the photo of the jog wheel (!) which could be a god-send. It can act as a scrolling wheel/enter button, familiar to users of RIM’s BlackBerry devices.

It supports HSPDA and UMTS, and has two cameras — one front-facing
that is aimed for video conferencing use. This is everything I wanted
in the Wizard and more! The heart of the unit is a Samsung 300MHz
processor, which (rumor has it) is faster than Intel’s 416MHz
processor.

Will be strongly considering this device, but the following are my concerns:
- Will the photo camera’s quality be equal-to or better than my HTC Prophet? We’ve seen that the Prophet’s camera is better than the Wizard.
- Will it really have A2DP out of the box?
Estimated release date is July 2006.
Update: the::unwired has posted some nice photos of the Hermes as well from CeBIT 2006 :
