Palm Treo 700P

palm700pPalm (anyone still remember them?) is getting close to releasing their Treo 700P.  Unlike the 700W, which runs on Windows Mobile, the 700P will utilize Palm OS, making it the "true" successor to the Treo 650.

Upgrades are aplenty: camera quality is improved over the 650, as is memory size (128MB vs. the 650′s skimpy 32MB).  Palm has also paid special attention to this new Treo’s multimedia capabilities, bundling a basic version of Pocket Tunes.  P-T served me well during my Zire 71 days and definitely beats Realplayer in terms of functionality.

I kid you not, I will be giving this a serious consideration if and when Palm comes out with a 3G UMTS version.  Whether it will include A2DP or smooth OOTB-Outlook sychronization is a whole other matter, however.  Maybe it’s time to rehash the Palm vs. Pocket PC debates. Tongue out
