The O2 Stealth is a Pocket PC Phone in a sliding form factor, which have become increasingly popular over the last couple of years. Long gone are the days of the O2 and HTC partnership – the Stealth is manufactured by Gigabyte.

| O2 STEALTH FRONT – the screen has been pushed up to reveal the keypad. Screen is somewhat small at 2.4" diagonally. |
| CLOSE UP SHOT of the top buttons. Fairly standard here: call, end call, start menu and OK; D-pad with the enter button in the middle was easy to use in my brief time with the Stealth. Note the notches on the top of the call buttons are NOT for "soft keys" – they are there simply for orientation purposes. |
| THE KEYPAD up close. Fairly flat and without any segmentation, the keys may take a little time to get used to. |
| THE LEFT SIDE of the Stealth show (from left to right) the camera button, and the slide-wheel. It may look like a jogwheel, but it does not scroll 360° and is effectively a slider. You can push down on the wheel, but by default this action records voice notes. Notches towards the bottom-right of this image are for phone strap. |
| THE RIGHT SIDE of the Stealth show (from left to right) the reset hole, Mini-SD slot and the headphone jack. The latter is a proprietary 10-pin jack. |
| THE HEADPHONE JACK - close-up shot. |
| TOP OF THE DEVICE shows the power button and the LED indicator that shows whether bluetooth and/or wi-fi are activated. It also like it can be the infrared port, but there is no mention of this in the pdf manual. |
| ON THE BOTTOM is the mini-USB port, protected by a rubber cover. The stylus can be found in the bottom-left of this photo. |
| LIKE THE 838PRO, the stylus is telescopic but MUCH thinner. |
| THE CAMERA is capable of snapping photos in 2.0 megapixels (1600×1200) but the key feature here is the autofocus. Push down halfway on the camera button to focus, then press down further to capture. Speaker and LED light can be seen next to the lens. |
| THE BATTERY COMPARTMENT with the 1300mAh Lithion-Ion Polymer battery removed. The stylus is clearly visible, as are the two blue Stratecom stickers. (Stratecom is O2′s local distributor in Hong Kong.) |
O2 STEALTH AND DOPOD 838PRO side-by-side: |
| STACKED SIDE VIEW of the O2 Stealth (top) and Dopod 838Pro (bottom). As you can see from the measurements above, the Stealth is actually thicker than the 838Pro. |

QUICK TAKES
[+] The sliding mechanism on the Stealth works as you would expect – very smooth and locks into place easily.
[+] Camera has autofocus!
[+] Screen is sharp at 2.4" and very responsive
[+] 192MB of memory should satisfy most users
[+] Retail price of HK$4,680
[–] A bit dissapointing they did not implement a true jog-wheel that is fully scrollable in all directions.

[–] The machine didn’t seem to respond instantly to the hardware buttons – I felt slight "lag" while navigating.
[–] Proprietary headphone connector
