Yes, WM6 upgrades are on the way! This comes as no surprise after HTC’s announcement made earlier last month. However, what is interesting is that the HTC Trinity is listed as eligible for the move from WM5 to WM6.

On a posting on Dopod’s Taiwan website, 4 models are listed as eligible for the free WM6 upgrade: U1000, P800W, CHT9000 and CHT9100. The upgrade will be made available starting from July 2007. Those unfamiliar with the latter two models should note that:

This should come as welcomed news for D810 owners!

UPDATE: the news has now officially hit the Hong Kong site. [ English press release | Chinese press release ]. Bear in mind that of course HK does not have the P800W (HTC Artemis).

Cooked WM6 roms for the Trinity are already available, so I wonder why we have to wait for another 2 months

Definitely a most welcome news but will it keep me from migrating to Symbian OS now that I have seen and tried the N95…?
