WM6 for Dopod D810, 838Pro, U1000, P800w

Get ready – free WM6 upgrades are coming for Dopod/HTC D810, 838Pro, U1000, and P800w.

At this time Hong Kong users cannot download from the new HTC Asia website yet, but that is expected to be remedied as soon as possible. (Current countries supported as of now include Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines, and Vietnam)

    After you upgraded to WM6, were you able to restore data from your WM5 backups?

    any of you already using WM6 from Xda-dev? Wonder if those upgrades will interfere with the “official” HTC WM6 upgrade.

    Last night, I was quite anxious to upgrade my 838 Pro but disappointedly I found the WM6 Upgrade was not available for download yet. Bummer!

    I was told by Softbank users that the Dopod 838 Pro WM6 ROM work on theirs.

    That just great! That further de-values our legitimate 838 Pros….

    Like I said, Chinese and Taiwanese designs are so worrisome!

    I had my doubts, considering the numerous number of Taiwanese software problems I encountered whenever I buy a Taiwanese hardware. But this time, this upgrade was a breeze. It took less than 8 minutes to apply the WM6 ROM and no glitches or hiccups in between. I am impressed!

    Eat your heart out, O2 (which took me a dozen times to upgrade an O2 Mini ROM)

    no problems here either on my 838Pro, even coming from a customized version of WM6 Pro Black 2.5. Noticed there is a new Windows Update feature for Windows Mobile devices now, much like Windows XP/Vista!

    I noticed the response is somewhat faster too. However, I am not sure if this was because there is basically no add-on programs yet. I will know once I re-install all apps that I had before the upgrade…
