Contact Manager by PocketCM attempts to make the contact manager on your PocketPC a stylus free experience. In the spirit of the HTC Touch phone the author attempts to make finding your contacts a finger sliding experience. I find it quite enjoyable to use this piece of software.
Flick your finger up or down the screen and watch you contacts scroll. The faster you flick the faster it scrolls for you. Put your finger to the left side of the screen and the closest letter of the alphabet you tap enlarges. Then scroll up and down with your finger and you get the other letters. When you get to a letter you want lift up your finger and watch you contacts scroll at high speed to your contacts beginning with that letter.
Next try tapping onto one of your contacts. It will show up the address and contact details. If you have a picture assigned, the picture will show up as well. Now click on SMS and watch the screen twist around to reveal a qwerty keyboard. An extra nice touch is the most recent messages sent to your contact is listed.
When you tap the top half of your contact screen a list of options becomes available to you including adding and editing Contacts. You can also set your Contact as a Favorite here. To get to your Favorite screen just slide your fingers sideways across the screen.
I think this is a lovely piece of work!
The author has made the software available in Cab and Zip form. You might want to try the ZIP file first as it will not change anything on your device. The Cab file will REPLACE your normal contact manager. The site mentions it may take some effort in changing back. Perhaps it is worth trying the Zip file first to make sure the software is right for you.
