Search by Voice on Google Maps 4.1 for Windows Mobile and Symbian S60
A new version of Google Maps 4.1 for Windows Mobile and Symbian S60 smartphones adds the ability to search via voice. Definitely a useful feature for use in the car… but wait, should you really be trying to operate a phone while driving? Anyway, hot on the heels of the new Bing voice search feature, the official Google Mobile blog has details of its new voice searching features for WinMo and Symbian S60: open Google Maps, press the “call” button on your phone and speak clearly with your search term(s). I noticed it supports several different English accents as well as Mandarin Chinese, which will definitely come in handy.
To get started, visit m.google.com/maps using your phone’s default web browser.
