Yup .. Also my warranty has expired by only 1~2 months. 🙁
To be honest I’m not that keen on getting the LCD fixed. I may just use it in the living room as a Thinkpad media center 🙂
The MB is a very nice machine, I have one of the White ones before Apple change them all to Silver. Not sure if you’ll fine the lower resolution of the MB to be acceptable, from your T43’s 1400 x 1050.
One the other hand, the screen is very very nice though…
Yes that’s a bit of a drop from that 14×10 resolution, but I think I’ll get by just fine at 12×8 with the help of Spaces (which I haven’t used at all on my desktop with 2 LCDs at 19×12 and 16×10). I also thought about the 14×9 resolution on the MacBook Pro but the weight is a bit too much IMHO.
BTW – I noticed you have a S10, what do you think of it? I’ve been wanting to pull the trigger for the S10 for a while now, but can’t justify the high price (UK) of the machine.
I keep thinking, for the price as a S10, I could get myself a mint condition X40/X60!!!
In HK we can get the S10e for less than HK$4000, so not sure how it compares over there. I’m liking mine a lot so far for the size and weight obviously. ExpressCard will be put in use once I get a decent data plan for HSDPA with modem. the “e” model also has http://www.splashtop.com built in so that you can boot into this Linux environment in under 10 seconds for web browsing, chat, and photo/mp3 browsing. If I had to dock marks, I would take it off the keyboard first of all.. maybe a 8/10.
The X60 might not be a bad idea for the same price!
PS. A good forum on the S10 is here: http://www.s10lenovo.com/
