My planning to upgrade the current 18Mbps Netvigator to 30Mbps reminded me of Kaitech.hk, so I am back (for until the next time I suddenly disappeared for whatever reasons)
I just visited PCCW enquiring about the 30Mbps plan. They said it’s available in my estate (they say it’s not by area but by estate). The also said it will costs me $319/month based on a mandatory 24-month contract. I was kinda shocked considering I am only paying $219/month for the 18Mbps one. But then the 30Mbps plan also comes with 3 Now-TV channels of your choice (including Adult channels but excluding sports).
Just before I walked out the door, I asked about the 100Mbps plan just for the hell of it. They said it costs $429/month for a DEDICATED LEASE LINE. Wow! That’s another story. Hell, now that I work at home, I find that the broadband is so damn slow on weekday daytime, probably because they redirected all their bandwidth to business usage (although their hotline operators denied). Anyways, however, they cannot say whether my estate is capable for 100Mbps fiber lines and obviously no-one has applied before. Well, let me be the pioneer as I always have.
100Mbps…full duplex 100Mbps…the more reason for moving my US-based website home.
