This is the reason why I hesitate to buy this device.
Currently, I’m looking at building on my own a media device that behaves as a set-top box with recording function + NowTV recording and all other media functionalities.

I am an owner of it’s older brother, the M218, and it is the biggest joke ever when it comes to watching and recording HDTV broadcasts. Let’s just say to summarize this product it has the quality and design of a cheap-brainless-made-in-China crap. I still laugh at its brainless design once in a while. The schedule recording function is extremely funny…sorry I don’t know how to explain its flaws but its very unusual and it’s not like the typical recording device. Once you scheduled a recording, you cannot cancel until the scheduled time expires. LOL!
But if you’re buying this for watching DivX/XviD AVI or H.264 .TS media files with support for embedded AC3 and DTS audio, this is an OK product and it is quite unique (even today). Luckily that was my intention when I bought it.
To be honest, I have not used its DMB-TV functions for months now, let alone its recording functions. But I do often use it to play H.264 .TS videos.
