Several weeks ago there was a review on one of the local computer magazine (PCMarket) of DMB-TV + media files devices, much like the M218/M288, however I don’t remember the reviewed brand and models. The only thing I remember was there were at least two products that were capable of recording NowTV and based on the reviewer comments the products appeared quite good. Prices were between $2000 to $2500 (no HDD). You might want to search for PCMarket back issues.
There was however one thing the review did not mention is that: Can the devices automatically change NowTV channels when you instruct it to perform a schedule recording? If not, then the product is virtually useless. My PCMCIA tuner can record NowTV just fine AS LONG AS you preselect the channel you’re to record.
PS. I never care much for NowTV anyways. In the living room I have the M218 connected to a Plasma TV that plays H.264 .TS videos (demuxed from .MKV videos). In the bedroom I use the TViX Player to play DivX/XviD AVI on a CRT TV. In the computer room I use my old laptop to play both AVI, HD media and any video formats that both the M218 and TViX Player cannot play (HD up to 720p. My Core Duo laptop is not powerful enough to play 1080p videos)
