I have just bought this device (Thursday) in order to replace my Palm TX (touch screen no longer responding to either hard or soft resets – it is sadly deceased) I use a MacBook Pro running the dual OS – Tiger and Win XP. On unpacking and configuring the O2 Zinc found the set up straight forforward although one glaring oversight in the documentation is that the unit MUST be COMPLETELY charged before attempting inital sync with Windows. Additionaly, software bundle only supplies ActiveSync 4.2. Microsoft has version 4.5 available for download – I reccomend using the latest version and bypassing the bundle completely. I have had two inexplicible freezes – one this morning when it locked into the camera: an hard reset was necessary. Easch time the time reset to US time zone. Go figure. Otherwise it’s working well. Like the pill out keyboard. The build seems sturdier than the Dopod 838, which was the other device I was considering. Time will tell, but so far…well, it’s Windows based, so I expect teething probs!
