If you join the data plan, the price of the phone goes down to $4,180. If you deduct $1,600, then the price goes down to $2,580. It’s a bit complicated b/c you have to provide proof that your average phone bill is more than $200 per month. You also have to join an 18 month plan so it’s a long commitment. Of course you have to pay everything up front and then they start deducting the rebates as the months go by.
I must say that the data plan at 3 is quite good. Much cheaper than CSL. I just hope the reception is good. My 3 plan doesn’t kick in until my CSL contract ends on Nov. 29th. I am hoping for the best because cheaper plans usually mean poorer service.
That’s it for now. More later.
Nice deal on your new X1. I guess the 18 month contract may be a way to hold out on getting another phone too early 🙂 I usually try to pay for my camera bodies on installments to stop me from changing it every 6 months :angel
Let us know what you think of your new data plan. I’m sure these new data plans are getting cheaper without necessarily degrading the service. My plan with Smartone is nearly half the price of what it was a few months ago. I have unlimited web browsing now and my extra 100mb data can be used for other forms of data usage.
