No Beatles, and no iPod touch with camera, but there was plenty of news to come out of Apple’s 9/9/09 Music Event. Highlights:
- iPhone OS 3.1 – Genius function to recommend apps based on apps already purchased. Free upgrade from 3.0.
- Ringtones at US$1.29 each. A selection of over 30,000 ringtones are available for purchase
- iTunes 9 – revamped interface, Home Sharing (sync apps/music/TV/movies with up to 5 home PCs), Genius Mixes, improved syncing options. And, finally, app and home screen arrangement for iPod touch/iPhones.

iPod touch – no internal microphone, no camera as rumored. New price points: HK$1568, $2288, $3088 for the 8GB, 32GB, and 64GB models respectively.
iPod classic – upgraded from 120GB to 160GB. Price: HK$1,888.
iPod shuffle – new headphones will come out for the shuffle with built-in remote. HK$448 and $588 for the 2GB and 4GB shuffle. There’s also a special, Apple store exclusive in polished stainless steel for HK$748.
iPod nano – arguably today’s star of the show, the nano got a host of new features. Most notable are the video camera, FM Radio, and pedometer (counts how many steps you walk, and can sync to Nike online). The nano also has a larger 2.2″ LCD screen, as well as an external speaker and built-in microphone. Availabile in a large variety of colors, at HK$1168 and $1388 for the 8GB and 16GB versions.
