Just went for a browse around Mong Kong during lunch. A few shops trying to sell there limited supply (perhaps just one :)) of 3G Iphones for between $9980 and $10800. Any takers?….!!July 16, 2008 at 5:46 pm #2509
That is an obscenely high price! 😮 😮July 20, 2008 at 6:07 am #2510
I bought and returned the 3G iPhone already. I had it on Day 2 of the launch @ the 5th Ave Apple flagship store and waited in line for 4 hours too. I’m however glad that my buddy bought it and kept it because it’s his first foray into smartphones. It’s great that it has the iPod feature but the “smart” features of the phone weren’t that great for me. Resistive touchscreens are more exact and call handling on the HTC Kaiser was just much faster for me. I liked the user-friendly features but it takes too long to make a phone call which makes me want to cry. Also Exchange synchronization still needs work.July 21, 2008 at 5:42 pm #2511
I played with one the other day at a Rogers store in Canada. The demand here is not nearly as high as the US, could be due to the high prices of the subscription plans. I have been debating between the iPhone 3G and the HTC Diamond as a gift, and as the recipient needs to make use of GPS features with turn-by-turn instructions (ala TomTom) I’m leaning very slightly towards the Diamond at the moment.
All is subject to change though 😉
