Existing customer flyer (1st Picture) / New customer flyer (2nd Picture)
Notice the problems?
Existing Smartone customers have to pay $128 for 1200 minutes plus other features while new customers (phone number carry over from other service providers) only have to pay $68 for 1700 minutes plus other features. Both plans offered the exactly the same features.
So this is how Smartone treats it existing customers?
According to Smartone, if you’re not on a contract, you can leave Smartone and join another network then return back to Smartone after a month and you’ll be eligible for the $68 plan. I chose different method instead. After 8 years as a Smartone customer, I think I have had enough of its sh-it! I quit for good! Who knows whether they have other undisclosed ripoffs against their members.
This prompted me to immediately switch to the slightly more expensive PCCW $98 for 1200 minutes + unlimited WiFi + 60mb data transfer.
Btw. My Dopod 838 Pro finally called it quits so I bought myself the HTC Touch Cruise 2 instead. The price was 24-monthly interest-free installments of $186 each + $300 cash coupon + 8Gb MicroSD + a freebie Agnes B. cholocate coupon. Total price was $4480. If it wasn’t for the 24-month interest-free installments, I would’ve bought the much cheaper HTC Touch 3G instead.
The Geotagging photoprint function is really good but it doesn’t quite make sense to have this feature but the camera lacking auto-focus. A camera without auto-focus is basically useless.March 9, 2009 at 11:18 pm #7577
Hey iTwins, don’t be too angry. that’s pretty much the same thing in other countries. New customers always get a better deal than existing ones. 😉March 10, 2009 at 10:14 pm #7578
Well. I’ll be contend if all service providers are like that. Otherwise, all I can do is jump ship and switch to another provider
