Apparently the new 4S might not fit into cases made for the iPhone 4. Take a look at this image:
It looks like the mute switch and the buttons were moved a smidgen to accommodate the antenna designs.

The iPhone 4S has surpassed the iPhone 4 in pre-orders on the first day by approximately 400,000 units:
CUPERTINO, California—October 10, 2011—Apple® today announced pre-orders of its iPhone® 4S have topped one million in a single day, surpassing the previous single day pre-order record of 600,000 held by iPhone 4. iPhone 4S is the most amazing iPhone yet, packed with incredible new features including Apple’s dual-core A5 chip for blazing fast performance and stunning graphics; an all new camera with advanced optics; full 1080p HD resolution video recording; and Siri™, an intelligent assistant that helps you get things done just by asking.
Many customers in the US are already seeing their iPhone 4S shipped via various carriers. The 4S will roll out to 22 additional countries by the end of October: Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Mexico, Netherlands, Norway, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland.
No word yet on when Hong Kong will launch the iPhone 4S officially, so expect the grey market to significantly drive up the price of 4S imports at places like Sin Tat in Mongkok!

Thanks largely to this video I now have gigabit ethernet from the router to my iMac. I picked up a punchdown tool, couple of face plates & keystones at Mongkok Computer Center couple of weeks ago, right before the Typhoon 8 hit actually.
There is a shop right outside the 3rd floor that sells networking parts, amongst many other goodies. I paid less than HK$100 total for the lot. (photos after the break)
Courtesy of Macworld, here are some of the more overlooked items when iOS 5 comes out later this week, on October 12:
Just noticed that when opening google.com, I was automatically redirected to https://encrypted.google.com/. Looks like SSL search will – at some point in the future – become the default.

I just saw over on Sony’s Hong Kong site that they have introduced a couple of new PS3 bundles:
