Touch Pro 2 – Unboxing

OK, I took one look at the nice WVGA screen and spacious keyboard and ended walking out with the Touch Pro 2. So much for me thinking to wait for the price to drop a little before purchasing it…

No fancy pyramid shape box this time. Just serious and professional like.

Just the basic stuff from within the box. Nice that it comes with a screen saver. Extra stylus, USB headphones and AC adapter supplied. The disk comes with a Trial version of OL2007.

A nice leather pouch comes with the Pro2. The flap closes securely to the pouch with the aid of magnetic strips added within the lining.

No more D-pad…this will take me some getting used to.

The keyboard is nice and spacious relative to the one on Touch Pro. I feel typing on this keyboard is quite comfortable. I missed the tilt screen on my previous TyTN II so it’s nice to have it back again!

Touch Pro2 review by Phone Arena
A review by Phone Arena as a nice phone size comparison between the Touch Pro and the Diamond2. I quite like the size of my Touch Pro as is a nice compact size even with the keyboard, but I really do like the screen resolution of the Touch Pro 2. It would be interesting if HTC could consider bringing out a Diamond2 with keyboard.
One concern is that the reviewer did not think the handsfree loudspeaker worked too well. I have to admit that my wife’s Nokia does a better job at handsfree than my Touch Pro. My previous PocketPC devices never faired well with Handsfree either. Conference calling with handsfree seemed to be a major feature when this device was first announced. It would be a shame if it did not work well.
Another dislike for me is that the reset button is now under the battery cover. I would find that a little annoying.
