Came across this bit of information regarding the HTC ROM updates at Coolsmartphone.com. Seems like someone has got A2DP running using a leaked ROM on their Wizard, but needed to overclock their unit. Could this be the reason why there is still no A2DP for the 818Pro?Link: Coolsmartphone For more information, please see the forum discussion thread. … [Read more...]
Activesync Via Bluetooth
Installing the Bluetooth software (BlueSoleil) to XP was uneventful. After installation, XP was able to detect the dongle and allocated it to COM port 16. Next, using my PDA I 'discovered’ my desktop. I guess I could have done it the other way around, but the main thing was that pairing went off without a hitch. Not much different to pairing a headset, except you need to enter a password to both devices. If the pairing is correct, you should see ‘Activesync’ as a service … [Read more...]
HP Rumours
Rumours and photos of the new HP pda phone based on the O2 Atom at Mobilitytoday Funny the flip lid looks just like the one I got with my silicon sleeve for my old O2 Mini. A disguise perhaps? Mind you HP has always liked using flips on their products. Brought back memories of my first flip top HP jornada 540. Had to go rummage it out a take a photo of it!! Have to go try charging it now!! Hope I have the charger. Hope the battery is still ok! … [Read more...]
i.Tech Clip R35, A2DP, AVRCP and the Atom
O2 Atom with iTech R35 After reading and chatting about A2DP in these forums of late, I wanted to try it out for myself. As the Atom already has A2DP and AVRCP set up I decided to go for the i.Tech R35. It was not easy finding one in Shatin this afternoon, but finally found a lone set at Cyber Telecom for $680. Had no choice in colour as it only came in white. The two were pretty easy to pair up. Test run of phone call at shop with BT was good. Was surprised … [Read more...]

Kaitech…you’ve been Atomized!
So the Atom arrived in Hong Kong yesterday. I was upset because I couldn't get it until today. "Please don't give it to someone else!!" Anyway I got it safe and sound. Shop assistant said there wasn't enough to go around for even the ones who pre-ordered. Pheww! O2 must be happy. Unfortunately may not have too much time to explore the new gadget tonight, but managed to get a few shots. Also I think this is a great time to wish everyone a … [Read more...]

From Mighty Atom to Frugal Laptop
The makers of the O2 Atom are in the news again. Quanta has been contracted in a project to make laptops available for virtually anyone and especially targeting people of developing nations. Can't help thinking that the device could be similar to my very first WindowsCE device -- difference being my HP 320LX was about HK$ 7000 when it first came out and had no wind-up tool to charge the batteries! They aim to have the laptop available for under US$100. I'm sure plenty of people … [Read more...]
