World Cup Apps
The World Cup is finally upon us and I am one of the unfortunate who does not have the right service in Hong Kong to get television access. Fortunately information is only a few taps away with my trusty Android. I have noticed there are quite a few apps to choose from and half the fun will be to choose which app will be the most useful. Right now I have chosen Goal.com mobile to browse around on the HTC Desire, but there are plenty more to choose from. Mashable.com have a list of … [Read more...]
LinkPush for Android
Since the arrival of my HTC Desire, I have been busying myself browsing and installing apps from the Marketplace. I have come across a small yet useful little app called LinkPush. This app works in combination with the Chrome browser on your PC and Android. When you install the app to your phone you will also need to install a plugin button onto your Chrome browser. Once installed it will allow you to send any webpage that you are currently browsing on the PC to your Android. Just push the … [Read more...]
Jumped Ship to Android
After 10 years of PocketPC/PPC/WinMo/Windows Mobile/Windows Phones.... or whatever you want to call it, I have jumped ship and have become an Android groupie. Have chosen the HTC Desire. So far the experience has been quite positive except that I am almost out of space to add more apps. Am hoping that there will be a Froyo update to the Desire quicksmart! Hopefully I can add more Android articles in the future. Meanwhile it will be nice to hear about any tips and experiences … [Read more...]
Desire coming soon to Hong Kong
The HTC Desire has made it to the HTC Hong Kong web page. Specifications are very similar to the Nexus One although the roller ball has been replaced by a optical track pad. The dual mic appears to have been omitted from this unit. This is something that I thought worked well in cancelling ambient noise while talking in noisy environments. Something that works nicely on the Touch Pro 2 and appears to also work well with the Nexus One. Overall a nice clean looking device and a nice fast … [Read more...]
Bing Mobile has Voice Search
If you haven't updated your Bing app on your Windows Mobile, Blackberry or Sidekick in a while, you might not realize that Bing Mobile now has voice search. I just tried out the voice feature with mixed results. "Hong Kong Weather" was found first try. "Inside Steve's Brain" came up with "Insight Steve Brain" and "Inside Steve's sprain" . When it is unsure it will give you a list of what it thinks you said and you can choose the correct one by tapping on it. It found my search after the … [Read more...]
Touch Pro 2 – Unboxing
OK, I took one look at the nice WVGA screen and spacious keyboard and ended walking out with the Touch Pro 2. So much for me thinking to wait for the price to drop a little before purchasing it... No fancy pyramid shape box this time. Just serious and professional like. Just the basic stuff from within the box. Nice that it comes with a screen saver. Extra stylus, USB headphones and AC adapter supplied. The disk comes with a Trial version of OL2007. A nice leather … [Read more...]

Touch Pro2 review by Phone Arena
A review by Phone Arena as a nice phone size comparison between the Touch Pro and the Diamond2. I quite like the size of my Touch Pro as is a nice compact size even with the keyboard, but I really do like the screen resolution of the Touch Pro 2. It would be interesting if HTC could consider bringing out a Diamond2 with keyboard. One concern is that the reviewer did not think the handsfree loudspeaker worked too well. I have to admit that my wife's Nokia does a better job at … [Read more...]
