Rooting the Note2 LTE

Rooting the Note2 LTE

Now that I have settled on my Note2 LTE, I thought it was about time I rooted it. Checking out Xda-Developers is the best place for all the fun, developer goodness. I found Chainfire had the easiest solution and sure enough everything was completed in seconds! Now I have a bit more flexibility with my Note2 for customising, backing and modding. It so nice to have these guys around! A nice feature after rooting is the ability to access a USB stick through the microusb port. Check … [Read more...]

LTE with Note2

I finally got around to getting my Note2 LTE. So far on average I have been only getting around 20 down 20 up here in Hong Kong. In Australia using an Optus network average was more around 40. What figures have others been getting? … [Read more...]

Samsung Galaxy Note2 in Hong Kong

I was very happy to get hold of my Note2 the other day! Sadly though, the version that has arrived to our shores is without LTE. For now LTE is only available here if you buy the first generation Note. I hope the LTE version for Note2 will arrive very soon as I understand that LTE will be available to UK customers on first release. Makes me wonder why we weren't given the option here. Aside this disappointment the new … [Read more...]

iPhone5 is here

iPhone5 is here

I finally got the "Longphone5" for the wife to use. Above you can see the new iPhone alongside the iPhone4s and the 3G iPhone. As you can see the iPhone5 appears about 1 icon longer. Interestingly enough I also noticed that the iPhone5 length is equal in length to the 4s with a Battz battery extender attached. Obviously the 4s becomes a little thicker with the battery as well. If the next generation battery extenders keep to the same format factor I have to wonder if the length will start … [Read more...]

Dawn of a new iPhone

Dawn of a new iPhone

The announcement for the latest iPhone is nearly upon us. Unfortunately Apple does not appear to be giving us a live coverage on-line this time. Fortunately there will be a few sites who will try to give us up to the minute live blogs. I usually find it is better to track several sites as I think the servers during the announcement will likely be under a lot of load. Be prepared for breakdowns of auto-feeds, video delays and overall bad connections. Here are a few sites that I … [Read more...]
