Apple Store visit

Today was my first visit to the Apple Store at IFC. Seems to be the busiest shop at the Mall. The place seems to have teaming with employees eager to help out. One young lady insisted that she take my daughter over to the kids corner so I could browse in peace. My purchase was ColourStudioHD for my niece's belated Birthday … [Read more...]

Retina Display iPad

I have succumbed to a retina display iPad. This one is the 64gb wifi only version. I compared the text on the Web browser side by side with the iPad2 and you can definitely see the difference at the smallest text size. If anyone knows of a raw file editor, please let me know. … [Read more...]

Sharp Phablet

Sharp Phablet

I came across the Sharp SH530 during my stroll the other day. Following the Samsung Galaxy Note trend it is a nice, but big 5" sized phablet. Big in size it is, but the phones specifications are watered down a little. The screen resolution is only 800*480 and has a 1ghz dual core. It comes with a 5mp camera on the back and 16gb of memory. It is quite a nice looking phone. The unit itself feels rather lightweight. During the short time I tried it out I found it rather zippy to use. Although … [Read more...]

Pancakes anyone?

Pancakes anyone?

I bought the 40mm STM pancake lens for the 5D mkIII the other day. I am having so much fun with this lens. I am really amazed at how sharp this lens is. The cropping potential with this lens is very good. Although the lens is not a USM lens it is still fairly fast. STM (Stepper motor) was designed with video in mind as it is very quiet and focusing is very smooth. I love the pancake design for it's size. It is very compact and makes the camera a real lightweight. The camera is a real pleasure to … [Read more...]

Price wars are always good for the average user. SmarTone has now also introduced a $68 unlimited data plan. The data speed is capped at 384kb/s, but if you are a casual user and use it for a little browsing and WhatsApp for example it should be enough for you. Via The Standard … [Read more...]
